Important, please read: Divine is an AI guide. It is not a priest, deacon, or spiritual father. Its responses should not be treated as sacramental guidance, confession, or official Church teaching. For matters of faith, sacraments, or personal spiritual direction, please consult your father of confession.
1. Who We Are
CoptAra ("we," "us," "our") is a Coptic Orthodox digital platform based in Texas, USA. Our website is coptara.org.
CoptAra is a mission-driven platform. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the Coptic Orthodox Church or any of its dioceses. We are independent believers building tools to serve the community.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By visiting or using CoptAra, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
We may update these terms as the platform grows. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
3. The AI Guide: Divine
Divine is an AI language model trained to respond from a Coptic Orthodox perspective. By using Divine, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Divine is not a priest, confessor, or spiritual director. Its responses do not constitute sacramental guidance, absolution, or binding Church teaching.
- Divine can make mistakes. AI systems may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information. Always verify important doctrinal or historical claims with a trusted source or your spiritual father.
- Divine is not a mental health professional. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a qualified professional. See our Crisis Support page for immediate resources.
- Divine is not a substitute for pastoral care. We strongly encourage maintaining a relationship with your father of confession.
4. Content Standards: Coptic Orthodox Doctrine
All content on CoptAra (blog posts, AI responses, and resources) is intentionally grounded in Coptic Orthodox Christian doctrine. We do not represent or speak for other Christian denominations, Eastern Orthodox churches, or other traditions, even where beliefs may overlap.
We make every effort to ensure accuracy, but we are not the official voice of the Coptic Orthodox Church. Where content touches on matters of official doctrine, please consult primary Church sources or your clergy.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use CoptAra to:
- Attempt to manipulate, jailbreak, or circumvent the AI guide's guidelines
- Generate content that is abusive, hateful, or contrary to Coptic Orthodox values
- Harass other users or our team
- Scrape or harvest data from the site in bulk without permission
- Use the platform for commercial purposes without written permission
- Impersonate clergy, Church officials, or CoptAra staff
- Submit false information in forms or contact channels
We reserve the right to block or restrict access for any user who violates these terms without prior notice.
6. Email Subscription
By subscribing to the CoptAra newsletter, you consent to receive devotional emails including daily scripture, saint of the day, and weekly articles. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your email address.
7. Donations
When the donations feature is live, all donations are voluntary and non-refundable unless otherwise stated. 25% of every donation will be distributed to Coptic Orthodox charities as listed on our transparency page. The remaining 75% covers operating costs (hosting, API services, development).
Donations are processed through PayPal. CoptAra is not a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Donations are not tax-deductible unless we obtain that status in the future, at which point we will update these terms.
8. Digital Products
Digital products (planners, journals, guides) are sold for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not resell, redistribute, or reproduce them without written permission. Refunds for digital products are handled on a case-by-case basis; contact us within 7 days of purchase if you have a problem.
9. Intellectual Property
All original content on CoptAra, including blog articles, product designs, and generated resources, is the property of CoptAra unless otherwise credited. Coptic Orthodox scripture, liturgical texts, and saint stories are part of the public domain of the Church.
You may share short excerpts with proper attribution to CoptAra. Reproducing full articles or products without permission is not allowed.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
CoptAra is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We make no guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of any content, including AI-generated responses. Use of the platform is at your own risk.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CoptAra shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of CoptAra, including reliance on AI-generated content. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (if any).
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Texas.
