Joseph and His Colorful Coat
Genesis 37
Jacob had twelve sons, but he loved Joseph more than the others and gave him a beautiful coat of many colors. This made his brothers burn with jealousy. Joseph also had dreams that the whole family would one day bow before him, and when he told his brothers, their anger grew even stronger.
One day, when Joseph went out to check on his brothers in the field, they grabbed him, threw him into a pit, and sold him to merchants traveling to Egypt. They took his coat, dipped it in goat's blood, and brought it to their father, letting him believe Joseph was dead. Jacob wept for days. His brothers had done something very cruel.
Joseph arrived in Egypt as a slave. Things seemed hopeless. But God was with Joseph every step of the way, even when Joseph could not see it. In Egypt, Joseph's story was only just beginning — God was preparing something amazing through every hardship.
